4. Menu Assignment work- due Jan. 18. Beginning of Class. I WILL NOT TAKE LATE

5. OPTIONAL ASSIGNMENT - Due Thursday, Jan. 11.
Option 1:
RL.2- Summarize the entire plot of your library book. Then describe what message or main
idea the author wanted to relate to the audience. NOTE: THIS THEME STATEMENT (message)
needs to be more than one word. It cannot just be LOVE. It has to be, for example, LOVE
GONE BAD or LOVE CONQUERS ALL THINGS.


Option 2:
RL.3- Find AND describe 4 characters from your book. Make sure you use physical and mental
descriptors. Provide a passage for each that shows some of this description. Then, describe which
quality relates them the most to either Odysseus or Penelope. “They do not relate” is not an
option. Figure out a connection.


5. Watch for examples of Hero Cycle words in Star Wars (the Call, the Refusal, the Mentor
or Talisman)
